The two formulas are:


Using the imperial system, BMI is calculated by dividing your weight in pounds (pounds ) by your height in inches (in) squared and multiplying by a conversion factor of 703.

Formula: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703
Example: Weight = 200 lbs, Height = 5 ft 5 inches (65 inches)
Calculation: [200 รท (65)2] x 703 = 33.27 BMI

Because height is commonly measured in centimeters, divide height in centimeters by 100 to obtain elevation in meters.
